When the other Dwarves of the outpost retreated to the keep as they became steadily outnumbered Talen found himself Stranded outside the walls, facing down many enemies alone famously including single handedly killing 3 lava Trolls.
Against all odds Talen Fought his way up to the keep in an attempt to free his Brothers (Biological and otherwise) from the Grol hammering away at the gate. With Talen's aid the other dwarves gain some breathing room and were able to retake the Keeps entryway. ▼

After retaking the keep's entry the Grol commander appeared, Talen, Weary from battle, armour all but destroyed, stood ready to face the beast-man alongside [[Alekan Indrothath]]. They fought hard, the dwarves managing to get the upper hand on several occasions, the fight took them through the keeps outer walkways and outside onto the roof. Talen, Daringly or Foolishly, leapt from an overlooking window to the front courtyard below seeking the Grol Leader's head. Spotting him on the roof Talen hastily made his way up to the Beast-man. There Talen and the Commander duelled fiercely, until finally after a misstep and a well timed strike from the Grol, Talen Fell backwards from the roof to the courtyard below, meeting his demise. ▼
